Welcome to Poppy Class! Our teacher is Mrs Juniper.
Get to know Mrs Juniper
Here are five amazing facts about Mrs Juniper:
- She loves swimming. My favourite place to swim is in the sea pool in Bude! (Even in the winter!)
- Her favourite food is probably a curry but as most of you know I am also never far away from a packet of wine gums!
- She has a beagle called Merlin who she loves taking to the park.
- Her favourite colour is purple but you will also often see her wearing yellow clothes as that is another favourite.
- She loves travelling to new places and when she was younger she taught in a school in Uganda where there were 60 children in a class!

School Trips and Workshops
We have had some fantastic experiences in Year 3 this year.
Our most recent trip was last week when we visited Chiswick Pier. The children were given the opportunity to measure the depth of the river Thames, observe water samples and test the cleanliness of the river. We learnt about pollutants and what we can do to help keep the river clean. The children also identified and found different animals that were living in the river. It was so much fun!
We have had a visit from the History Man who taught us everything anyone could imagine about life in the Stone Age. We also went to the Polka theatre to see the theatre production of a popular book called tidy. We were also incredibly lucky to have a storyteller come in and do some workshops with us which the children absolutely loved - following the sessions they also produced some fantastic pieces of writing inspired by these sessions. At the beginning of the year we even made our own pizzas at Pizza Express!
